Jerry Lee Strimbu

Posted
It is with great love and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Lee Strimbu, who lost his courageous battle with cancer. Jerry was born in Gary, Indiana, and throughout his life called many places home, including Michigan, Georgia, Texas, Florida, Chicago, Belgium, and most recently Arizona. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Jerry’s life was marked by hard work, perseverance, and a profound love for those around him. Jerry began working at the young age of 12 and, through determination and dedication, put himself through school, ultimately earning his Ph.D. His professional journey reflected his strong work ethic and commitment, and even after decades of hard work, he only retired five years ago. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and carried that same sense of service and resilience throughout his life. For 54 wonderful years, Jerry shared his life with his beloved wife, Pamela, the love of his life, who preceded him in death four years ago. Together they built a beautiful family and shared countless adventures. He is survived by his two children, Elizabeth Strimbu and Christopher Strimbu, his cherished granddaughter Zoe Strimbu, his sister Amy Kuzo, and his brother Charles Strimbu. Jerry’s passions filled his life with joy and color—he was a car enthusiast, a loyal Georgia Bulldogs fan, a talented cook, and an avid traveler who explored the world and embraced every culture he encountered. He also found peace and happiness on the water, most at home on the ocean with a fishing rod in hand, waiting to catch the next big fish. Jerry will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Jerry’s memory to Hospice of the Valley, whose care and compassion provided comfort in his final days. We will hold Jerry forever in our hearts.
