Edward Parry McNair

Edward Parry McNair, 95, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026. Edward (Ed) was born on August 9, 1930, in Staten Island, NY to James E. P. and Mary Carmody McNair. Edward attended Georgia Tech prior to entering the United States Military Academy at West Point. While attending West Point, he met his wife of 72 years, Rebecca Archer. After graduating from West Point in 1954, Edward and Rebecca were married in Mahopac, NY. Ed continued to serve in the Army as a Field Artillery officer and 82nd Airborne. In 1957, he remained active in the National Guard and Army Reserves in NJ retiring as a Lt. Colonel. Ed’s career as an engineer included positions in Massachusetts and New Jersey. He obtained his private pilots license and was able to enjoy his love of flying for both business and family trips. Ed and Becky retired to Las Cruces NM in 1998 where they continued to enjoy their love of travel, visiting many parts of the world. Ed is survived by his wife, Becky (Rebecca), four children; Steve, Andrea Savas (Bob), Martha Carillo (Don), Jennifer Olson (John), brother Hugh Dermot McNair, thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Fountain View Village as well as Hospice of the Valley. A memorial service will be held at Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church in Fountain Hills, AZ July 20, 3 pm. Edward will be interred at Mahopac, NY at a date to be determined.
