Fountain Hills residents team up for animal pumpkin drive

For wildlife conservation center

Members of the Fountain Hills community teamed up to donate 80 pumpkins for animals in the care of the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center.

On Sept. 30, town residents showed up to help the center’s goal of 100 pumpkins.

“Pumpkins are a beloved seasonal treat by all of the animals in our care,” Raandi Morales, Executive Director of Southwest Wildlife, said. “From raccoons and bobcats to black bears and mountain lions, they all enjoy batting around pumpkins that our animal care team has stuffed with their food. This enrichment encourages natural behaviors and helps keep the animals mentally and physically engaged, and it would not be possible without these generous donations!”
