Donald A. Johnson passed away on May 8, 2026, at the age of 93 in Fountain Hills, AZ. He was born in 1933 in Aurora, IL and graduated from Batavia High School in 1951. He graduated from DePauw University and was a member of Delta Tau Delta. He graduated from Northwestern University School of Medicine in 1959 and completed his residency at Anchor Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Don was a Board-certified OB/GYN and spent most of his career at the Bloomington Lake Clinic, Abbott Northwestern Hospital and Fairview Southdale Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. He ended his career at Park Nicollet Clinic and Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN. He was proud to have delivered over 7,000 babies during his long career. Don served in the US Army from 1967 – 1970 and spent part of this time working at an evacuation hospital in Vietnam where he earned a distinguished service medal. Don loved sailing and had a boat on Lake Minnetonka for many years. Don was a member of the Royal Order of the Knights of the Vine, and he had many wine club friends in Minneapolis, MN and Rio Verde/Fountain Hills, AZ. He was an original Vikings ticket holder in 1961 and his life-long dream was that the Vikings would win a Super Bowl. He loved to play golf, eat delicious food and drink amazing wine, all of which were done with impeccable style. He is survived by his brother, Thomas Johnson, daughters Sheri (Gary) Hird, Julie Streeter, and Karin (Jon) Henning, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
