Fountain Hills Town Clerk Linda Mendenhall has announced that the committee seeking to refer the Town Council decision regarding apartments at Four Peaks Plaza (Saguaro and Shea Boulevards) has submitted the petitions ahead of the required deadline.

Friday, Feb. 16, the Reclaim Our Town (ROT) committee submitted 1,816 signatures to refer the zoning decision related to the residential PAD for the apartments. A second petition was submitted related to zoning that would apply to new monument signs for the plaza. There were 1,357 signatures turned in for that issue.

The number required by law, based on ballots cast for a previous election, is 1,084.

The next step for Mendenhall is to review and process the signatures for verification, which must be finalized and submitted to the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office by March 18.

If the item is certified for the ballot it would appear for the November 2024 General Election.
