Ozone health advisory extended

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has extended an ozone high pollution advisory through today, Thursday, July 28.

The advisory means that ozone levels are expected to reach or exceed the minimum standards for ozone in the atmosphere.

Ozone may be a health issue for those with respiratory problems particularly the young or elderly. Those people in these categories should remain indoors and avoid strenuous activity.

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has extended an ozone high pollution advisory through today, Thursday, July 28.

The advisory means that ozone levels are expected to reach or exceed the minimum standards for ozone in the atmosphere.

Ozone may be a health issue for those with respiratory problems particularly the young or elderly. Those people in these categories should remain indoors and avoid strenuous activity.

Motorists should curtail daytime driving, refuel cars and use gasoline powered equipment as late in the day as possible. The advisory also means a ban is in effect for wood burning fires and commercial landscape power blowers on government property.
