MCSO busy with traffic issues in Fountain Hills

Maricopa County Sheriff’s office in District 7 based in Fountain Hills is reporting that deputies responded to the following calls during the week from Thursday, Oct. 2, through Wednesday, Oct. 8. There was a significant response to traffic issues during the week.
Thursday, Oct. 2
*Deputies made a traffic stop for a speeding motorist on Fountain Hills Boulevard at Inca Avenue. According to deputies, the driver was traveling 59 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35. A records check revealed the driver of the vehicle had an active warrant. The driver was arrested and booked into jail on the warrant.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s office in District 7 based in Fountain Hills is reporting that deputies responded to the following calls during the week from Thursday, Oct. 2, through Wednesday, Oct. 8. There was a significant response to traffic issues during the week.
Thursday, Oct. 2
*Deputies made a traffic stop for a speeding motorist on Fountain Hills Boulevard at Inca Avenue. According to deputies, the driver was traveling 59 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35. A records check revealed the driver of the vehicle had an active warrant. The driver was arrested and booked into jail on the warrant.
*A resident of the 16000 block of Almont Drive reported an unknown subject broke three windows of a residence by throwing rocks through them.
*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of El Lago Blvd. where it was reported a driver backed their vehicle into a retaining wall on private property, causing damage. No injuries were reported and no vehicles were towed.
Friday, Oct. 3
*Deputies responded to Shea and Saguaro boulevards for a reported traffic collision. Deputies report a driver failed to control speed to avoid a collision and rear-ended another vehicle. No injuries were reported. One vehicle was towed from the scene.
*Deputies responded to Saguaro Boulevard and Gunsight Drive where a traffic collision was reported. According to MCSO, a motorist failed to yield while making a left turn and was struck by another vehicle. No injuries were reported and no vehicles were towed.
*A resident of the 15000 block of Elena Drive reported an unknown subject stole a Rolex watch from the victim’s residence. The victim did not wish to aid in prosecution.
Saturday, Oct. 4
*Deputies responded to El Sobrante Avenue and Oro Grande Drive for a reported traffic collision. Deputies said a driver fell asleep at the wheel, drifted off the roadway, and struck a mailbox. No injuries were reported and no vehicles were towed.
*Deputies responded to the 17000 block of Shea Blvd. where it was reported a subject created a disturbance and damaged a vehicle by kicking it and causing a dent. The subject was contacted by deputies and issued a criminal citation.
Sunday, Oct. 5
*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of Parkview Ave. where it was reported an unknown motorist struck an unoccupied parked vehicle in a private parking lot then fled the area. No injuries were reported and no vehicles were towed.
*Deputies made a traffic stop at Shea and Palisades boulevards, where a driver was stopped for failing to stop for a red light. A records check revealed the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was issued a criminal citation.
*A resident of the 16000 block of De Anza Drive reported an unknown subject stole a vehicle from the garage of a residence. The vehicle was left unlocked with the keys inside the vehicle, and the garage door was open. The vehicle was equipped with LoJack, and deputies were able to track the vehicle and apprehend the suspect in control of the vehicle. The subject was arrested and booked into jail and the vehicle was recovered.
*A resident of the 10000 block of Saguaro Blvd. reported an unknown subject entered a parked vehicle and stole items from inside. The vehicle was left unlocked at the time of the incident.
Monday, Oct. 6
*A resident of the 11000 block of Saguaro Blvd. reported an unknown subject entered a parked vehicle and stole items from inside. The vehicle was left unlocked at the time of the incident.
Tuesday, Oct. 7
*Deputies made a traffic stop for criminal speed on McDowell Mountain Road MP 1.5. Deputies reported the driver was traveling 78 miles per hour where the speed limit is 45. The driver was issued a criminal citation.
*Deputies made a traffic stop for speeding on Saguaro Boulevard at Indian Wells Drive. According to deputies, the driver was traveling 50 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35. A records check revealed the driver had an active warrant out of Mesa. The driver was arrested and turned over to Mesa Police to be booked into jail on the warrant.
*A resident of the 16000 block of Inca Ave. reported a domestic violence assault incident. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.
Wednesday, Oct. 8
*Deputies responded to Palomino and Palisades boulevards for a reported traffic collision. Deputies report a motorist failed to stop at a stop sign and struck another vehicle. No injuries were reported and no vehicles were towed.
*A resident of the 15000 block of Catalpa Place reported an unknown subject attempted to defraud the victim out of $15,000 as part of a telephonic scam.
