Deputies appreciate being remembered over the holidays

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies working in District 7 in Fountain Hills appreciate the good wishes they received through the holiday season, according to MCSO Capt. Larry Kratzer, District 7 commander.

“The administration, staff and deputies of MCSO’s District VII wish to extend our sincere appreciation to the people and businesses of this great community for your unwavering support throughout 2024,” Kratzer said. “There have been numerous times throughout the year when community members have approached our deputies and individually expressed their appreciation for our deputies and the work they perform. During the Christmas season, we were overwhelmed with the numerous types of delicious holiday treats and kind words we received. All of us deeply appreciate this community, and our deputies are honored to serve in this area and its people.

“We look forward to 2025 and offering you our finest service.”

During the week from Thursday, Jan. 2, through Wednesday, Jan. 8, deputies in District 7 reported responding to the following calls.

Thursday, Jan. 2

*A resident of the 16000 block of Lamp Lighter Way reported that an unknown subject damaged property on the exterior of a residence.

*A resident of the 13000 block of Manzanita Lane reported that an unknown subject stole a package from a residence.

*Deputies responded to the 12000 block of Saguaro Blvd. where a domestic violence assault was reported. The aggressor in the incident was arrested and booked into jail.

*A resident of the 15000 block of Cabrillo Drive reported that an unknown subject misrepresented themselves as a title company in order to defraud the victim out of approximately $750,000. Case forwarded to detectives for follow up.

*Deputies responded to the 14000 block of Shea Blvd. for a reported private property traffic collision. Deputies report a driver parked their vehicle but failed to activate the parking brake or place the vehicle’s transmission in a locked position. The unoccupied vehicle then rolled down a hill and struck a wall belonging to a business. No injuries were reported.

*Deputies responded to the 12000 block of Saguaro Blvd. where it was reported that a subject threw citrus fruit at the complainant. The complainant was not willing to aid in prosecution for assault.

*A resident of the 16000 block of Jacklin Drive reported that an unknown vehicle struck another vehicle that was parked on the street in front of a residence. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

*A resident of the 15000 block of Eagle Rock Drive reported that an unknown subject fraudulently listed the complainant’s house for rent on a short-term rental website. The complainant did not wish to aid in prosecution.

*A resident of the 16000 block of Parlin Drive reported that an unknown subject egged the victim’s vehicle while it was parked in front of a residence.

Friday, Jan. 3

*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of Palisades Blvd. where a private property collision was reported. MCSO reports the driver backed into a parked vehicle in a business parking lot. No injuries were reported.

*Deputies made a traffic stop on Shea Boulevard at Palatial Drive for criminal speed. MCSO reports the driver was traveling 75 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50. The driver was issued a criminal citation.

*Deputies responded to El Lago and Saguaro boulevards where a private property hit and run collision was reported. An unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle in a parking lot. No injuries were reported.

*Deputies responded to the 11000 block of Saguaro Blvd. where it was reported that a subject caused a disturbance at a business. The victim was unwilling to aid in prosecution.

*Deputies patrolling the area on Fountain Hills Boulevard Arroyo Vista Drive observed a vehicle parked at a stop sign blocking the roadway. Upon contacting the driver of the vehicle deputies initiated a DUI investigation. The driver was detained and the vehicle towed. Charges pending lab results.

Saturday, Jan. 4

*Deputies responded to the 14000 block of Dickens Court where a private property collision was reported. Deputies said a trailer attached to a vehicle collided with a sign located on a residential property. No injuries were reported.

Sunday, Jan. 5

*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of Boxcar Drive for a reported hit and run collision. MCSO reported a vehicle struck another vehicle that was parked on the street in front of a residence. Deputies followed a trail of fluids from the scene and located the other involved vehicle but were unable to locate the driver of the vehicle. No injuries were reported, and no vehicles were towed.

*A resident of the 16000 block of Gunsight Drive reported that an unknown subject stole two electric bicycles from the bike rack of an apartment complex.

*Deputies were dispatched to Bainbridge Avenue and Golden Eagle Boulevard for a reported single vehicle collision. MCSO reported deputies located a vehicle that had struck a curb and came to rest in a vacant lot. Upon contacting the driver, deputies initiated a DUI investigation. The driver was subsequently arrested for extreme DUI.

Monday, Jan. 6

*A resident of the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Blvd. reported that an unknown subject used a fraudulent scheme to defraud the victim out of approximately $85,000.

Tuesday, Jan. 7

*A resident of the 16000 block of Glenview Place reported that a unknown subject posed as an Apple representative as part of a fraudulent scheme in order to defraud the victim out of approximately $500.

*Deputies responded to the 16000 E. Kiwanis Drive where it was reported that a subject unlawfully entered a fenced commercial yard and broke into a secured motor vehicle taking items and causing damage. The subject was located inside the vehicle, arrested and booked into jail.

Wednesday, Jan. 8

*Deputies received a report from adult protective services regarding a possible assault at a residence in the 16000 block of Westby Drive.

*A resident of the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Blvd. reported a domestic violence criminal damage incident. The subject who damaged property was arrested and booked into jail.
