The Town Council has renewed the employment agreement of Robert E. Melton, presiding judge of the Fountain Hills Municipal Court.
Melton has served as the court’s presiding judge since 2014, and the term of the current agreement expires June 30, 2024. The new employment agreement is for an additional four-year term, per Town Code. A couple of changes to the agreement were made; the termination date is to coincide with the fiscal year calendar. This simplifies salary adjustments.
Another change provides that salary increases are set at either 2.5% or the amount of any across the board increases for all town employees per the annual budget adoption.
