Presenting two original Disney productions, the Fountain Hills Theater presents the Broadway musical “The Little Mermaid” and “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood.”

“Disney’s The Little Mermaid” opens Jan. 31 and runs through Feb. 16. It plays Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m..

With an enchanting blend of beloved characters, dazzling costumes and unforgettable musical numbers, audiences are invited under the sea as curious mermaid Ariel makes a perilous pact with the sea witch Ursula to become human - but there’s a catch. She must win the heart of the charming Prince Eric within three days, or she will belong to Ursula forever.

“Disney’s The Little Mermaid” is directed and choreographed by Gin Selfridge and musically directed by Seikai Ishizuka.

Youth Theater production

Playing Jan. 17-26, the Fountain Hills Youth Theater presents “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood,” a comedy offering belly laughs and a “Monty Python-esque” romp through Sherwood Forest.

The loveable rogue Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men team up with a Merry Man Wannabe named “The Town’s Gal” to stop the evil Prince John and his equally evil sidekick the Sheriff of Nottingham from taking over the throne and save the lovely Maid Marian from a fate worse than death.

“The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood” will play Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., Jan. 17-26.

It is written by Mary Lynn Dobson and is produced in cooperation with Dramatic Publishing Company.

All performances take place at Fountain Hills Theater, 11445 N. Saguaro Blvd.

Individual tickets are $40 for adults and $18 for youth 17 and under for “The Little Mermaid.”

Tickets for “The Somewhat True Tale Of Robin Hood” are $18. Veteran, active duty, senior and group rates available.
