The Four Peaks Questers of Fountain Hills are joining other Arizona Quester chapters to host a free Keepsakes Roadshow Saturday, Oct. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Scottsdale United Methodist Church.
This program is open to the public and attendees are invited to bring a treasured keepsake, collectible or antique of any kind, along with a short story about its personal significance.
Questers Keepsakes Roadshows are available to the public to bring people together to learn about and share stories of their treasured keepsakes.
Sharing treasured keepsakes and their stories is the focus of Keepsakes Roadshow, according to a press release.
No appraisals will be given.
The mission of the Questers is to keep history alive by supporting preservation, restoration and education of anything of historical significance.
Created in 1944, the Questers currently have more than 6,500 members throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Questers study and support the preservation and restoration of historic places and artifacts. They also provide scholarships for graduate students in preservation, restoration and art conservation.
One of their most recent projects involved raising funds to create signage and replace visitor display cases for the Merci Train located at the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale.
The 20 chapters of the Questers in Arizona meet monthly.
Monthly meetings feature educational programs and field trips to historic sites.
Questers work with museums, historical societies, libraries and other groups promoting historical education.
