‘Nature’s Magical Transition at Dusk’ is May 30

The community is invited to join Vicky Derksen of Night Sky Tourist for a night of exploration of dusk as day turns to night, revealing the distinct phases of twilight and their impact on the natural world.

The presentation, entitled “Twilight, Starlight, Moonlight: Nature’s Magical Transition at Dusk,” is at 3 p.m. Friday, May 30, in the Fountain Hills Library conference room.

According to a press release, participants will discover the behaviors of diurnal creatures settling down while nocturnal animals awaken, from the melodic cricket chorus to the silent flight of owls and bats.

Participants will learn how stars gradually appear across the celestial canvas and how the moon’s appearance transforms throughout the month, creating different experiences during that transition.

Experience the mindful opportunity that twilight offers a chance to pause, breathe deeply and connect with both the natural world and the human need for transition and rest.
