Fountain Hills hotel looking to create 46 residential units

P&Z to review special use permit

The owner of Fountain Park Hotel is looking for approval to rezone and convert 46 hotel rooms into residential units. The Fountain Hills Planning and Zoning Commission will review the proposal during its meeting Monday, Oct. 12.

The owner of the 3.22-acre property is requesting to rezone from intermediate commercial to town center commercial district. Doing so will allow the conversion of the top floor of the four-story building, consisting of 46 rooms, to be transformed into residential units fit with kitchenettes.

There is no residential allowed under its current zoning, according to the meeting packet.
