Thursday, Nov. 21, at approximately 2 p.m., following the annual Armed Services Appreciation Day Golf tournament and luncheon at Rio Verde Country Club, a special American Flag Retirement Ceremony will take place at the Club.
This solemn event will include a special tribute to departed service members. Submitted names will be respectfully announced and individual pieces of paper bearing their service details will be ceremoniously added to the flag retirement fire.
Anyone who possesses an old and worn American flag they wish to retire with dignity, and/or anyone who desires to have the name of a relative or friend remembered and honored, they may reach out to Jim Walt at 831-818-2306 or via email at jim@thewaltfamily.com.
Names should be provided in the following format: Name, rank, service branch and date of death. If they were killed in action or passed away due to service-related injuries include that information as well.
