Dr. Jyoti Patel, former owner of Fountain Hills Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, will open a new medical clinic Oct. 1 at 11648 E. Shea Blvd., suite 225, in Scottsdale.
Patel sold her local practice Jan. 1 to Dr. Kaveh Karandish.
Her new business, AZ Integrative Medicine & Spa, provides one-on-one medical visits to patients looking for a physician who can provide both conventional medicine and holistic care.
She also will offer group classes on nutrition, meditation and healthy living, and IV therapy and medical cosmetics.
On Dec. 4, she will provide a group class on helping to prevent and reverse dementia.
Classes will include food preparation, mindfulness, movement and medication.
An open house is planned for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Oct. 19-20. Free classes have been scheduled.
The topics and times are:
*Saturday, Oct. 19: 10 a.m., medical CBD use; 11 a.m., nutritious food preparation; noon to 1 p.m., Meet and Greet; 1 p.m., meditation as medicine, and 2 p.m., breathwork and movement.
*Sunday, Oct.20: 10 a.m., non-opioid pain methods’; 11 a.m., nutritious food preparation; noon, Meet and Greet; 1 p.m., integrative mental health, and 2 p.m., mindfulness and stress reduction.
She will present a Night of Beauty from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 29.
“I cherish the relationships I made with my patients over the last 13 years and community service projects,” Patel said.
She was instrumental in creating the Community Garden and “Healing Foods Series” at 6 p.m., the first Monday of the month.
The series will showcase local talent and restaurants that believe food is medicine. Representatives will teach how to prepare healthy foods from the garden.
The clinic also supports the health of first responders. A free workshop for first responders and their families will be presented Oct. 26 at Hunkapi Farms in honor of National First Responders Day.
