The M. Parlor Salon welcomes two stylists

Fountain Hills salon turns four next month

Posted

The M. Parlor  Salon in Fountain Hills has welcomed two new faces to its five-chair full-service salon.

Master Stylist Holly Johnson and Hair Artist Kelly Dalton have filled two chairs at The M. Parlor Salon, bringing a fresh look to the salon off the Avenue.

Johnson comes to The M. Parlor Salon with 20 years of styling to her name.

A Balayage/blonde specialist with expertise in precision cutting, Johnson comes to Fountain Hills from Nashville as a L’Oreal artist, doing hair for individuals in the music and entertainment industry. Spending the last 11 years in the country music capital of the world, Johnson is accustomed to red carpet events and country music festivals, but she was ready for a change in scenery.

“The entertainment industry is a lot of partying and so I wanted a change of lifestyle,” Johnson said, who sought out Fountain Hills for its charm and lifestyle. “Quality of life is what’s more important to me, especially after lockdown and the Pandemic. People have a more focused and fine-tuned perspective.”

Johnson grew up in Ohio and lives with her family in Mesa.

Kelly Dalton is a hair artist who has been cutting and styling since July at The M. Parlor Salon.

As a stylist, Dalton provides a range of services including highlights, touch-ups and more.

I want people to have happy, healthy hair,” Dalton said. “I want them to enjoy their hair and love what they have.”

Dalton has previously worked in Chicago, Aspen, Seattle, Dana Point and Sweden. She lives in Fountain Hills and is happy to call this town home.

“I love it here. I love the people and the desert life,” she said.

Dalton has been styling for 18 years and counting.

“These two are absolutely amazing and are great additions to the salon,” said The M. Parlor Salon Owner Magic Michelle. “They deliver salon quality that I am looking for which is hard to find.”

Rhinestone Cowboy celebration

Apart from the new stylists at The M. Parlor Salon, Michelle will host a block party celebrating her salon's fourth year.

The event is also a celebration of Magic Michelle’s 43rd birthday. “It’s a special number for me,” she said. “It’s my magic number.”

Rhinestone Cowboy-themed, the party will include several vendors along N. Verde River Drive including local vendors, food, live music, giveaways, a selfie wall and games for attendees to enjoy.

Some of the vendors include Mindful Barbell, Santos Japanese Fuzion, Lue & Rue’s Sweets, Luminiris and music by Pat James.

The free event is Saturday, May 11, at noon and welcomes the community to celebrate and enjoy the festivities.

“I am extremely excited that the salon family has great new things coming this year,” Michelle said. “I am extremely thankful and blessed.”

The M. Parlor Salon is located at 16845 E. Avenue of the Fountains, Suite D100. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 480-433-2368.
