Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 7 substation based in Fountain Hills is reporting that deputies responded to the following calls during the week from Thursday, April 10 through Wednesday, April 16.
*Friday, April 11 deputies responded to Saguaro Boulevard and La Montana drive for a reported vehicle collision with a bicycle. Deputies reported the driver of the car failed to yield and struck two juveniles riding a bicycle through a crosswalk. The bike riders were not wearing helmets or additional safety equipment. Both bike riders received road rash type injuries to their torso and arms, one of the bike riders received a head injury. Both juveniles were transported for medical care with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was cited. The bicycle was returned to the owner.
Thursday, April 10
*A resident of the 14000 block of Yerba Buena Way reported that an unknown subject stole a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of a residence.
*A resident of the 15000 block of Del Ray Drive reported that an unknown subject posing as a landscaping company accepted payment for work at a residence but never returned to complete the work. The victim believes this was part of a fraudulent scheme.
Friday, April 11
*A resident of the 15000 block of Sunflower Drive reported that an unknown subject stole a package off the front entry of a residence.
*A resident of the 15000 block of Richwood Avenue reported that unknown subjects defrauded the victim out of approximately $86,000 as part of a fraudulent scheme.
Saturday, April 12
*A resident of the 16000 block of Dryad Place reported that an unknown subject stole items valued at approximately $9,000 from a residence. The victim believes the cleaners she hired may be responsible for the stolen items.
*Deputies responded to Saguaro Boulevard and Amhurst Drive for a single vehicle traffic collision. Deputies report the vehicle experienced mechanical problems causing the driver to veer off the roadway. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed.
Sunday, April 13
*Deputies responded to Shea and Saguaro boulevards for a reported traffic collision. According to deputies, a motorcycle rider attempted to pass a vehicle in the bicycle lane and struck the vehicle as it was attempting to make a right turn. No injuries were reported. No vehicles were towed. The motorcycle rider was cited.
*Deputies responded to Malta and Quinto drives for a reported single vehicle traffic collision. MCSO reports the driver left the roadway and rolled on to its side. Upon arrival deputies observed the driver to be impaired and initiated a DUI investigation. The driver was transported to the hospital where deputies obtained a search warrant for a blood sample. Charges are pending lab analysis of the blood sample.
Monday, April 14
*Deputies made a traffic stop on Fountain Hills Boulevard at Glenbrook Drive. A motorist was stopped for speed in a school zone reported traveling 24 miles per hour where the speed limit is 15. A records check revealed the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was issued a criminal citation.

*Deputies responded to Avenue of the Fountains and La Montana Drive for a reported traffic collision. Deputies reported the driver of a vehicle failed to yield and struck another vehicle. No injuries were reported, no vehicles were towed.
*Deputies responded to Almont and Cambria drives for a reported traffic collision. According to deputies a driver failed to yield while making a turn and struck another vehicle. No injuries were reported. One vehicle was towed.
Tuesday, April 15
*A resident of the 15000 block of Cholla Drive reported that an unknown subject fraudulently used the victim’s air miles without their permission.
*A resident of the 11000 block of Indigo Drive reported a violation of a court order.
Wednesday, April 16
*Deputies responded to Eagle Mountain Parkway and Shea Boulevard for a reported single vehicle traffic collision. According to deputies the driver who was distracted by a cell phone drifted off the roadway and struck a guard rail. No injuries were reported, the vehicle was towed.
