Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for the biannual National Drug Take Back Day event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26.

MCSO personnel will be on-site at Fountain Hills Town Hall to collect unwanted prescription pills and medications. This event is considered a crucial step toward reducing the misuse of prescription drugs and ensuring that harmful medications do not fall into the wrong hands.

Since 2010 the National Drug Take Back Day has had incredible success, collecting more than 6,000 tons of prescription drugs nationwide. The event offers a hassle-free, no-questions-asked opportunity for individuals to dispose of medications safely.

There is also a prescription drug drop box at Fountain Hills Town Hall just outside the Sheriff’s Office on the ground floor available at all times town hall is open.
