The River of Time Museum & Exploration Center, a 501(c)(3) organization, is holding a Mother’s Day sale on all jewelry. Items will be 20 percent off Friday and Saturday, May 9-10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Featured is a new collection of turquoise jewelry from Horse Spirit Studio, an indigenous-owned (Navajo) company that donates a percentage of each purchase to the Southwest Indigenous Women’s Coalition which educates and assists Native American female victims of domestic violence and abuse.
The gift shop also has a selection of necklaces, earrings and bracelets made of sterling and gold, many of which have gemstones, according to a press release, and much of the jewelry at the River of Time gift shop is obtained locally with a southwest flare.
A new line of women’s silk scarves are also available along with colorful Southwest-themed t-shirts and ball caps. The gift shop has expanded its t-shirt inventory to include children- and adult-sizes and new designs.
Also available are handmade, one-of-a-kind denim purses, pouches and tote bags, as well as leather backpacks and cross-body bags.
The gift shop also has a new selection of kitchenware, including towels, potholders, cookie cutters and cookbooks. Prickly pear jellies, honey, candies and chocolate make great gifts for the sweet tooth, the release said.
Shop unique home decor items including paintings, candles, metal art, Native American pottery, woven baskets, luxurious bar soaps and bathing creams.
The book section is full of historical biographies, water-themed non-fiction and desert field guides.
