The Fountain Hills Planning and Zoning Commission will address changes in a pair of ordinances during its Nov. 9 meeting.
The first pertains to zoning ordinances and assisted living homes in town. There are two types of community residents, with one being defined as family and the other as transitional for shorter-term residents. For the latter, currently up to eight individuals are allowed in a family while five are allowed in transitional.
However, to meet the state statutes passed in the last legislative session, 10 are required. The commission will discuss whether to amend the code to allow 10 or distinguish which types of homes are allowed in town, and for those that do not meet the state definition, remain at the current standard.
