Foster Your Future, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping students who have aged out of foster care, is celebrating the progress of its participants by sharing recent success stories with the community.
The organization encourages young adults to focus on small, achievable steps that build toward long-term independence.
Participants set smart objectives in areas such as personal finance, housing, transportation, education and employment. These goals, often accomplished in one to six months, help build confidence, create momentum and develop the patience and skills needed to achieve larger milestones.

Foster Your Future, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping students who have aged out of foster care, is celebrating the progress of its participants by sharing recent success stories with the community.

Jackie C. was aging out of her supported housing situation when was referred to Foster Your Future. With a daughter in childcare, Jackie needed help with college books, clothing and transitioning to independent living.
She qualified for the Housing Education Program that contributes funds toward housing in addition to providing supplies needed to access her education. Jackie now has her bachelor’s degree in counseling and has been accepted to a master’s program in counseling.
Anaya H. came to Foster Your Future with her car repossessed and was homeless as she continued to work full. With FYF’s support, she has now completed her medical assistant certification and is in stable housing.

One young man opened his first checking account, began setting up automatic paycheck deposits and linked his account to cover monthly expenses such as rent and his phone bill.
Another participant created a designated savings account for vehicle expenses and opened a linked checking account to manage funds more easily.
A young woman committed to tracking every debit card purchase for a full month as part of building stronger financial habits.
These steps may not make headlines, but they are worth celebrating. “And it is with that spirit that we celebrate some of the small steps that Foster Your Future program participants have taken this month,” a press release said.
Fresh Look, same mission
Foster Your Future has also refreshed its website, which now features regularly updated content, success stories, upcoming events and opportunities for the community to get involved.
The organization extends its gratitude to community members and partners who continue to support these young adults on their journey toward self-sufficiency, according to the press release.
