Eli Van Beek, Fountain Hills Sister Cities’ Student Ambassador was invited to attend the 2024 Sister Cities International Youth Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C., this summer.
The summit took place Aug. 4 – 10 at the Sister Cities International headquarters in Washington. The students visited other locations around the capital to enhance the learning experience.
According to Sister Cities International, the summit is designed to engage future leaders and expose them to important global challenges to inspire a new generation of citizen diplomats and volunteers who become instrumental in promoting peace, mutual respect and prosperity. The main goal of the summit is to prepare students with leadership and professional development skills to enable their successes and growth in the global community.
