The Mary Ellen & Robert McKee Branch of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale participated in an open game tournament against other local Boys & Girls club branches.
The event included games such as air hockey, ping pong, Uno, and pool.
“We had a lot of kids wanting to participate,” said Fountain Hills Branch Director Lauren Stratton. “We had an in-house tournament for our club members, and they competed against each other to be able to claim a spot to represent our branch.”
Members competed against each other but also learned the rules of the game and sharpened their skills. At the tournament, players got the chance to win medals and points for their branches. The Fountain Hills branch had the most points and won the entire event.
“Our branch really gathered together as a team and the kids enjoyed their time, especially competing against the other branches. The win was the icing on the cake for kids,” said Stratton.
