Why every donation counts

Every day, 30,000 units of red blood cells are needed to help patients in hospitals, surgical centers and emergency treatment facilities across the United States.

That’s according to Vitalant, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit blood and biotherapies healthcare organizations.

Across the country, hospitals depend on blood to treat trauma, perform surgeries and care for patients with cancer, chronic illnesses and complications from accidents or childbirth.
