The Sonoran Quintet to perform at Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church

The Sonoran Quintet will present a free concert Sunday, March 10, at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church.

Free-will donations received are given to the revitalization of the instrumental music programs at Fountain Hills High School and Middle School, under the direction of Jan Gardner.

Members of the Sonoran Quintet are Flutist Dianne Winsor, a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and the Boston Conservatory of Music; Oboist Patti Backes, who holds degrees in music education from the New England Conservatory of Music and Connecticut College; Clarinetist Chris “Doc” Stewart, a retired Mayo Clinic ER doctor who also plays saxophone and flute in a variety of musical genres; Bassoonist Marty Haub, a retired math teacher and former conductor of the Chandler Symphony and the Scottsdale Philharmonic; and French horn player Stacey D’Abate who is also a member of the Arizona Winds Band in the West Valley, the Alleluia Orchestra at Scottsdale Bible Church and the Poliziano Orchestra in Tuscany.

The concert is open to all.
