OPINION — Regarding Stacy Mantle’s article, National religious education campaign finds foothold in Arizona legislature:
I think religious education is a good thing. However, I disagree with allowing students to take time away from secular academic studies to pursue religious education.
We need well-educated students, especially in STEM, to keep up with the rest of the world. Parents should have all the freedom in the world to have their children pursue religious training outside of normal school hours.
