Internship provides opportunities to improve community

The Fountain Hills Protect Our Youth Coalition has a internship program for Fountain High School students who are interested in helping out around the community and impacting younger students’ lives. Currently the Coalition has five Fountain Hills High School boys who stepped up and want to help improve their community. Senior Jackson Montiard explained the impact interns want to make in the Fountain Hills community.

“I joined for an internship opportunity and for a chance to benefit my community,” Montiard said. “We go to classrooms and help volunteer. We also participatein big events such as Red Ribbon Week.” The internship’s main priority is helping out the community, but the Coalition wants its interns to improve their own skills and find their own niche when it comes to helping the younger generation.
