Ponzi

Conversing with modern-day liberals always leaves me a little dizzy. However, to clear my mind, I find the best fix is to select one statement or statistic and concentrate on proving or disproving it. When I make my own informed decision, I feel better. On one such occasion I found I could not focus on one specific item. I kept having this “deer in the headlights” feeling. Then it hit me, Charles Ponzi, yes that’s right, a Ponzi scheme.

Now bear with me. To set this up, I will say a Ponzi scheme (Wikipedia) is an operation where you invest your money with an institution and get a return from your own money or the money paid by other investors. The enticement is generally more frequent and higher than normal monetary return. Promise usually falls in the “too good to be true” category. The scheme requires ever-increasing money to keep going and the scheme is destined for failure (results).

OK, fasten your seat felts. We are required to invest in our government (institution) because they know best how to use it, and apparently we believe them. With all the expertise, knowledge and wisdom in government they will give you much more back than you could get by yourself (return).

Wealth, property, easy living, personal needs, no cause to worry or pay attention, we’ll make you equal with everyone else (promise). Debt burdens that can’t be paid back, welfare state, equality of misery, perpetual lies and deceit, higher and higher requirements for money (results).

Welcome to the world of “Ponzi Government.” What do you think?

James Madison wrote, “Where an excess of power prevails, property of now sort is duly respected. No man is safe in his opinions, his person, his faculties, or his possessions.”
