The Town of Fountain Hills has begun the second of a four-phase repaving project on streets in the town.
On Jan. 16, crews working with M.R. Tanner Construction began by removing the old asphalt on a portion of Ashbrook Drive. They will follow up working on Ibsen and Sherwood Drives during this phase.
The initial pavement milling revealed a little good news for the town as workers found that the base surface under the asphalt was in better condition than anticipated. The town had planned for complete reconstruction of the street removing and replacing up to a foot of subsurface material below the asphalt.
