Future of transit services for Fountain Hills under scrutiny

Use is on the rise, but funding is not

A lack of riders sealed the fate of the Valley Metro express bus route serving Fountain Hills as that service ended in April this year.

There is also concern for the future of the individual RideChoice services provided through Valley Metro but not because of a lack of use, but due to a surge in riders.

The RideChoice program is increasingly underfunded due to a sharp rise in usage and limited funding resources, according to Town of Fountain Hills Deputy Town Manager/Director of Administration Dave Trimble.
