Museums can often be a great experience, offering detailed stories, artificats and other visually captivating exhibits. For one group, it’s about gaining a sense of belonging and confidence as much as it is about learning, despite having little to no vision.
Kurt Pare, who organized the low vision and blindness support group in Fountain Hills in January, was part of the initial group that toured the Town’s River of Time Museum in March.
It was just a small group to test the benefits of such an experience. The short tour was a success and a much larger group from the SAAVI Services for the Blind school in Phoenix will be taking a tour in May.
