'Big Radio Broadcast' opens at Fountain Hills Theater

“The Big Radio Broadcast of 1941” opens Friday, June 29, at Fountain Hills Theater.

The show runs through July 29.

An independent radio station in the Midwest is ready to go national. The principals are ready, and they have a plan.

Just as they are ready to go live, a freak snowstorm knocks out the chance of receiving the national feed.

The four dedicated employees realize they can’t receive information but they can still broadcast, and they pull out all stops to put on the evening’s show.

“The Big Radio Broadcast of 1941”charmingly recreates the old radio programs with their comedy, news and intrigue segments, set to some of the most wonderful, original music of the period.

“The Big Radio Broadcast of 1941” is directed by Peter J. Hill, musically directed by and produced by Copperstate Productions. The show stars Sarah Brisco, Hill, Thomas Niels Mangum and Barbara McBain.

Shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
