Auditions for Fountain Hills Youth Theater’s first show of the season have been set.
“Narnia” will play from Sept. 21 to Oct. 7. Auditions will be held Tuesday, July 24, and Monday and Tuesday, July 30 and 31, at 5:45 p.m. Possible callbacks will take place Wednesday, Aug. 1. All activities will be held at Fountain Hills Theater, 11445 N. Saguaro Blvd.
Parts are for youth eight to 19. Those auditioning should prepare a one to two minute monologue and 16 bars of an upbeat song or ballad and be dressed to move. They also should bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. A CD player or phone plug also are available.

There is a $50 participation fee for actors who are cast. There are 15 parts to be cast.
“Narnia” is the musical adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ tale, “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.” The story follows four young children as they step in to a wardrobe and emerge in to a magical world of mythical beasts and talking animals. They find themselves pawns in a war against the evil Ice Queen.
The play is directed by theater Youth Artistic Director Ross Collins with musical direction by James Melberg.
