Misdemeanors against two involved in election night incident

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has submitted a report requesting misdemeanor assault charges be considered for two people involved in an alleged incident at a Fountain Hills restaurant following an primary election night watch party on July 30.

The report names David Scott Lovrak, close friend of Fountain Hills Vice Mayor Brenda Kalivianakis and Barbara J. Friedel, wife of Town Councilman Gerry Friedel, a candidate for mayor of Fountain Hills. The alleged incident took place as the election night party hosted by Friedel was breaking up at Batchelor’s Pad Barbecue restaurant on La Montana Drive.
