The 12th annual Sweet Corn Market will open this Saturday, May 31, at the Fountain Hills Tractor Supply Company, 17130 E. Shea Blvd.
The market goes from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and will feature freshly picked non-GMO sweet corn. There will also be tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, assorted melons, squash, baby potatoes, fire-roasted chilies and more.
The Market continues every Saturday in June and ends June 28.
Food trucks will rotate weekly for breakfast and lunch items, including the Lumpia Queen of AZ, bringing fresh flavors of Filipino food to take home for lunch or dinner.
Kids Fun Farm Day is June 7, 14
The second and fourth Saturdays will be “Kids Fun Farm Day” which will feature ponies/horses, baby goats and other farm animals to pet.
Baby chicks and ducks are already inside Tractor Supply for patrons to enjoy and there will fresh flowers for kids to plant and take home during “Kids Fun Farm Day.”
Vendors attending the Sweet Corn Market this year include Black Orchard Farms, Wiki-licious Donuts, Prickly Pear Teas, The Tamale Store, Noble Bread (pre-orders taken up to noon the Thursdays before: 480-227-6113), Sahara Turkish Coffee and Buenos Aires Empanadas.
Also in attendance are Paws Choose Us, Avocado Products, AZ Farm Grow, Sweet Trends, Yvonella’s dried fruit and Hatch Batch roasted green chiles.
Other vendors include Yallatizers, Portofino Kitchen, H&H Salsa, OMG Goudness, Lori’s Lunchbox, Shaku Maka and Pure Positivity
Market information
The Sweet Corn Market does not open till 8 a.m. Customers may come early to line up or shop at the other vendors.
Fountain Hills High School football players will be on hand weekly to help carry customers’ watermelons and any other heavy bags to their cars. Tips will go toward the Falcon Football Summer Training Camp.
Customers should bring their own bags to use throughout the market and if the Tractor Supply parking lot is full, use the parking lot across the street off Monterey Drive, where there are plenty of extra spaces.
There is one main entrance to the market and exit. Customers are encouraged to follow posted signage.
Vendors have different schedules over the summer, so be sure to ask vendors which week they will attend the market.
