Honor sacrifice

Posted

I was reading an article today where President Ronald Reagan, who was paying tribute to warriors of D-Day at Omaha Beach in 1984, asked and answered his own questions regarding the bravery and commitment of these patriots: “Why did you do it? What impelled you to put aside the instinct for self-preservation and risk your lives to take these cliffs? What inspired all the men of the armies that met here? We look at you, and somehow, we know the answer. It was faith and belief; it was loyalty and love.”

The writer went on to say, “Yes, they saved the world from tyranny, preserved our system of democracy and freedoms. We will always be grateful.”

I would ask, are we? Are we only paying homage to these brave warriors out of respect, or are we determined to honor their bravery by continuing the battle? Our country is in the battle of its life and it’s from within. Our liberties and freedoms are being stripped away, bit by bit, by forces within that are determined to undermine our Godly heritage. Our brave warriors fought for a country that was established and became great because of Christian values.

Should we not honor their lives better by looking within and doing what we can to support Godly causes and Godly leaders who are battling the evil forces determined to take away what our brave warriors fought and died for – America’s freedoms and liberties for all!

Our brave warriors laid their lives on the line for our freedoms and liberties. What ought we do today to best honor their sacrifice?
