Common sense

Posted

In the upcoming mayoral and town council election, it is common sense to elect new representation.

Hopefully a mayor with arm’s length from real estate and development projects will more objectively evaluate the impact proposed projects have on homeowners and will broadly seek the views and interests of the majority. Any town council member who has voted in favor of the recent property tax referendum, the lagoon study, the implementation of the high density urban development along Avenue of the Fountains and the high-expense and poorly located fire station project on Fountain Hills Boulevard has had his shot at representing us and has not reflected the views of the majority.

Simply put, we need leadership who has the open-mindedness and competency to do research in advance, so that when projects are put forward there is knowledge that these actions do reflect the desires of Fountain Hills’ residents. Let’s give others a chance to get involved and serve our community. Let’s advance Fountain Hills in a much broader-based effort that fosters an objective approach.
