In the 32 years of The Great Fair’s existence, the event has earned a reputation of artistic excellence.
This year’s 33rd edition on Friday, Feb. 22, to Sunday, Feb. 24, continues the tradition.
Hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Avenue of the Fountains and a portion of Saguaro Boulevard from Palisades Boulevard to Paul Nordin Parkway.
Admission is free. The event takes place rain or shine.
Among the approximately 480 exhibitors, “we’ll have the old favorites and a few new artists,” said Chamber of Commerce events manager Sharon Morgan.
Two food courts will be located at Saguaro Boulevard and the Avenue of the Fountains, where the Veterans of Foreign Wars will operate a beer garden, and a smaller food area and mini-beer garden on Verde River Drive.
The beer garden will provide live entertainment. Borderline, a band of retired police and military members, will play classic rock from noon to 4:30 p.m., Friday and Sunday.
Another band, Hooked on a Feeling, will play from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday including music from the ‘50s such as The Beatles, Elvis and country selections.
Jim Doeden will play in the mini-garden from noon to 5 p.m. daily.
Several local non-profit organizations sell food and drinks to raise funds for community projects. Scooter rentals are available. The Chamber requests people leave pets at home for everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
