In a time when we are all looking for government to cut spending and lower taxes, I am asking you to support the road bond issue.

If you are reading this letter, then I will assume you have already read the letters and articles and advertisements that have given the many reasons I feel comfortable in asking for your support.

This is not a “special interest” looking for government money, this is not a want, it is a need, getting more and more obvious each year, and the longer we wait, the more it will cost.

This is deja vu all over again, as Yogi would say, for all of us that were here during the days before incorporation when road issues were the main concern every day and it became a big driving force for the community to come together and support incorporation.

We knew if we were ever going to become a thriving community we would need to take responsibility to do what needed to be done. That was no more important than it is today. This is not a divided issue.

The roads will always need proper attention and the Town Council has put together a good plan for that continued maintenance and this road bond money can only be used for the reconstruction and repair of Saguaro Boulevard and its associated intersections.

So feel proud that you are willing to share in this small added tax to keep Fountain Hills the beautiful town we love to live in. Vote yes for the road bonds.
