Year ends on wet note

The year 2014 is ending on a wet note which is fitting for a year when Fountain Hills received about 10 inches of rain for the year.

As of noon a Pacific storm had dropped between a quarter and a third of an inch of rain on the community. Temperatures were cooling into the low 40s.

The rain gauge sites for the Maricopa County Flood Control District collected up to .39-inch at Hesperus Wash from the storm. The rain gauge outside The Times office on Laser Drive received about .40-inch.
