Ginny Dickey would be the first to recognize the dozen or so of her Council colleagues, plus staff and community members, over her eight years as a Councilwoman for Town accomplishments.
Unlike the current mayor, Ginny acknowledges everyone’s contributions. I’d like to share some highlights where Ginny played a significant role improving our community, with a great amount of help.
*Fountain Hills’ first comprehensive environmental policy: Single-hauler waste management including curbside recycling, saving energy/fuel, decreased customer bills, less road wear and noise, safer and more attractive neighborhoods with much fewer bins on the streets and community grants; Botanical Garden improvements; paperless agendas and more, two-sided copies when printing is necessary; recycling bins in Town buildings and events; Green Fridays; low water landscaping and Saguaro preservation ordinances; dust mitigating practices; expedited solar permits with flat low fee; grants for projects including carbon inventory and CFL retrofits.

*Fountain Hill Centennial Co-Chair, State-sanctioned event.
*Collaborative creation of the Strategic and Economic Development Plans.
*Public safety: Maricopa Association of Governments Regional Domestic Violence Council Fountain Hills representative; included CARE/FH in the budget; fire station relocation.
*Capital improvements: road bond; sidewalks, median; parks (skate, splash, pets); joint facility usage with FHUSD; Shea Blvd. and intersection; stormwater/culvers/wash environmental fee.
*Monitoring preserve access/trailhead protected funds against expiration/sweeps.
*State Trust Land annexation/development partnerships with FHUSD, School Facilities Board, State Land Department and Ft. McDowell.
Add to these how she’s helped individuals with neighborhood parking issues, short-term rentals, construction site and home business solutions, plus other day-to-day activities, and you will find an inclusive, respectful choice for mayor.
