I couldn’t agree more with Lina Bellenir who, in her recent letter to The Times, made prophetic statements about her criteria for a candidate for public office. Ironically, she makes my point. When she says, after the oath of office, “we witness the truth about that person.” She goes on to say “We learn they have a secret agenda, not shared with the public.” And, “Just because they held prior office, does not give them a pass.”
I agree with Lina when she says, “Our community does not need recycled politicians.” We don’t need another term for Mayor like Linda Kavanagh, who is so closely associated with the people who brought Donald Trump to town. That’s why I’m casting a write-in vote for Ginny Dickey for mayor.
