Win-win

As one who reviewed planned communities for Fountain Hills for (many) years, I am really excited to see the plans for Adero Canyon.

MCO should be commended for planning a great development again and with plans that are sensitive to the environment, rich in diversity and complementary to Fountain Hills.

I recall when SunRidge Canyon was being considered by the Planning and Zoning Commission in the early 1990s with the clustering of neighborhoods balancing impacts on wildlife. As a resident of SunRidge Canyon I especially appreciate the thoughtful approach and see more wildlife than ever. It only got better from there with FireRock and Crestview.

As for hikers and bikers, this development will provide access to a trailhead I helped plan with parking, water and restrooms where they can observe panoramic views like no other in the Valley. This development will also be a shot-in-the-arm to our local economy and provide badly needed revenues to our municipal coffers.

After a long downturn, this is a great plan and an exciting positive turn for Fountain Hills.
