Wilma Jean Pratt, 79, died on March 1, 2016, at Mayo Hospital in Phoenix. Wilma was born in Louisville, Ky. on Oct. 20, 1936.

She moved to Scottsdale in 1977 and then later to Rio Verde. She also lived close to her family in Michigan and Tennessee part-time from 1985 to 1992.

Wilma was a key member of her family. She was small in stature but passionate and strong in life. Wilma loved her family and especially her children, Karen, Gene and Lisa. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and spending time with them.

She always called her beloved sisters and brothers – she was one of 11 – to keep close and stay in touch.

She and Charlie loved traveling and did so often for many years. She enjoyed playing golf and, later in life, watching it always. She developed a love for the Questers, antiques and crafting that kept her very busy and happy.

Wilma was always interested, informed and concerned. Her conversations were engaging and she always had an opinion. Facebook and the iPad allowed her to share time with and see pictures of her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Pratt; two grandsons, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by three loving children, nine beautiful grandchildren, five precious great-grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters.

Services were held Saturday, March 5, at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
