Weekly report out of Sheriff’s Office in Fountain Hills

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 7 substation based in Fountain Hills reports that deputies responded to the following calls during the week from Thursday, May 15, through Wednesday, May 21.

Thursday, May 15

*Deputies made a traffic stop for speeding on Shea Boulevard at Balera Drive. Deputies reported the driver was traveling 79 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50. The driver was issued a criminal citation.

*Deputies made a traffic stop on Saguaro Boulevard at Ledferd Lane. According to deputies the driver was traveling 50 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35. A records check revealed the driver’s license was suspended and there was an active warrant for the driver’s arrest. The driver was issued a criminal citation and subsequently booked into jail on the warrant.

*Deputies made a traffic stop in the 10000 block of Saguaro Blvd. Deputies reported that the driver was stopped for traveling 52 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35. A records check revealed the driver’s license was suspended and the vehicle’s registration was suspended for lack of insurance. The driver was issued a criminal citation.

Friday, May 16

*A resident of the 16000 block of Ashbrook Drive reported a violation of a court order.

*A resident of the 13000 block of Ryan Way reported a domestic violence assault incident.

*Deputies responded to Shea Boulevard and Monterey Drive for a reported traffic collision. According to deputies a driver failed to yield from a private drive and was struck by another vehicle. No injuries were reported, and no vehicles were towed.

Sunday, May 18

*A resident of the 17000 block of Calle Del Oro reported that a subject became disorderly after a neighbor dispute. The subject was issued a criminal citation.

*A resident of the 16000 block of Trevino Drive reported a domestic violence assault incident.

*A resident reported to MCSO that an unknown subject posing as an investor defrauded the victim out of approximately $1.3 million as part of a fraudulent scheme.

Monday, May 19

*A resident of the 16000 block of Ashbrook Drive reported that an unknown subject defrauded the victim out of approximately $500 as part of an online scam.

*Deputies stopped a driver at Glenbrook Boulevard and Balsam Drive for a stop sign violation. A records check revealed the subject had an active arrest warrant from Gilbert Police. The subject was arrested and turned over to Gilbert Police on the warrant.

*Deputies responded to Calico and Silverado drives for a reported traffic collision. Deputies say a driver backed unsafely in the roadway and struck another vehicle. No injuries were reported, and no vehicles were towed.

*Deputies responded to Puma and Buffalo drives for a reported traffic collision. According to MCSO an unknown driver struck a legally parked vehicle and fled the area. No injuries were reported, and no vehicles were towed.

*Deputies responded to Saguaro Boulevard and Pepperwood Circle where it was reported that an unknown vehicle had driven through a neighborhood’s landscaping causing damage to the property.

Tuesday, May 20

*A resident of the 16000 block of Bayfield Drive reported a domestic violence fight incident.

Wednesday, May 21

*A resident reported to MCSO that an unknown subject posing as an Apple representative defrauded the victim out of approximately $10,000 as part of a fraudulent scheme.

*Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Blvd. where it was reported that an unknown driver struck a parked vehicle in a business parking lot then fled the area without reporting the incident. No injuries were reported, and no vehicles were towed.
