Weekend forecast is for excessive heat

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Phoenix area through the coming weekend. A strong high pressure system is forecast to build over the area Thursday through Sunday...resulting in record or near record heat and hazardous conditions.

The hottest days will be Friday through Sunday when temperatures will range from 112 to 118 degrees, and the peak heat is likely to occur on Saturday. Anyone who must be outside during the peak heat of the day this weekend, remember to stay hydrated.

For Fountain Hills is forecast is slightly less hot with the high Friday projected as 108, Saturday 112 and Sunday 108.
