A brief but powerful downpour crossed over Fountain Hills Wednesday evening, dropping quarter-inch hail along with it.
This was part of a wave of storms that have crossed Arizona and the Valley since the beginning of the week, and according to the National Weather Service, the next day or two may provide only a brief respite with more rain forecast for the weekend.
This has been a cold series of storms as well, with high temperatures struggling to reach the 60s and overnight lows projected to drop into the upper 40s the next couple of nights.
