At its April 2 regular meeting, the Fountain Hills Town Council voted to move forward to the final design stage for a “Wayfinding Sign” program in the community.
The council further discussed the plan at its budget workshop meeting April 9 and directed staff to proceed but take steps to reduce potential costs of the project.
Public Works Director Justin Weldy said they do not have firm costs but an engineering estimate is in the area of $750,000. The council generally remains supportive of the project, but suggested costs might be controlled by reducing the number of signs or capping the bids.
