Unfortunately there was a dog incident in Fountain Park last Thursday morning.
A dog, Vadar, being walked by a young man, broke his leash and attacked a rescue dog on leash being walked by a Rescue Pal volunteer. The young man was very upset and able to break up the attack.
Both dogs luckily were OK and walked away.

But we were appalled at the nasty remarks that proceeded after that. People were yelling and swearing at us telling us that we and the rescue dogs don’t belong there.
This all stems from an incident last October in Fountain Park between one of the rescue dogs and another dog. The other dog had a pre-existing condition that caused neurological problems and, unfortunately, he was put down several weeks after the incident.
It was not the rescue dog that caused this. The man who owned the other dog is full of anger and revenge against us.
Please, instead of listening to a bitter man, think about what we do for the rescue dogs. We have found homes for countless dogs that have been surrendered to us or have been abandoned in Fountain Hills.
We have decided that we will no longer be walking the rescue dogs in Fountain Park.
