I have concerns regarding Fountain Hills Representative John Kavanagh’s recent voting record.

HB 2448: Aye vote for required gun safety classes in elementary schools using unproven NRA materials. Opt out could mean “child abuse” charges brought against parents. Was this a threat? Don’t our teachers have enough to teach? Perhaps have adult safety classes first?

HB 2319: Aye for a prohibition against citizens filming law enforcement activities. What happened here to the First Amendment? Makes the police look bad. Maybe he should go home to the East coast and join a police force there again.

HR 2787: Aye to split Maricopa County into four. Aren’t Conservatives for less government, not more? And the cost? Sounds like a dodge to make the county go more Republican at taxpayers’ expense. Trump lost and this won’t bring him back. We’re purple, not red anymore; an educated electorate!

HB 2101: Aye to block competition for electricity provider competition. Green Mountain wants to bid for better rates. Isn’t this a free market kind of situation? I’m for paying less for the same service.

This is a call for Representative Kavanagh to call a town meeting in Fountain Hills to respond to his votes on the above.
